Step 1: Sign Me Up

Registering your retail store as a rechargeable battery and cell phone collection site is FREE and EASY. Simply complete our online form at Sign Me Up and RBRC will take care of the rest. No cost. No additional paperwork.

Step 2: Collecting the used rechargeable batteries and old cell phones

Customers will bring their spent rechargeable batteries to participating retail collection sites. This not only increases store traffic, but it increases return business with the sale of a replacement battery or cell phone. RBRC supports retail partners through public service annoucements, press releases and print advertising.

Step 3: Ship your batteries to the Consolidation Center

Once a collection container is full, it should be shipped to the recycling facility. RBRC pays for the shipping and recycling costs.

Step 4: Materials reborn!

Recovered materials can be used to make new products - the cadmium is used to make new batteries, while the nickel and iron are used to make stainless steel products. Cell phones are refurbished and resold when possible. Portion of the proceeds from the resale of the cell phones will benefit select charities.
